Guidance notes on completing the Application Form

Please read these notes carefully before completing your application form.

As part of the Council's practice of equality of opportunity, applications from internal and external applicants are treated the same. Your application form is the only information we use in considering a candidate's suitability for an interview. You should ensure that all information sent with this application form is read through carefully prior to completing the form.

Personal Details

Please complete this section accurately and clearly so that we may easily contact you about your application.

Job Sharing

This post may be open to job share. This normally means that two people voluntarily share one full time job. Pay and benefits are shared on a pro-rata basis between the two partners. Please refer to the advert and/or details enclosed.

References

Please give the names and addresses of two referees. If you are employed or have been employed in the past, one should be your present or most recent employer. If you have not been employed or have been away from work for a period of time you may wish to give the name of someone who knows you sufficiently well to confirm the information you have given and comment on your ability to do the job.

Previous Employment

When completing this section of the application form it is essential that you include all relevant work experience including part time and/or voluntary work. Please use a separate sheet if necessary.

Education and Qualifications

We are interested in any form of education you have followed including courses which did not lead to an examination or qualification. Please include experience gained on training courses such as YTS and ET. Please give details of any training gained through further courses for example short courses, voluntary and community work or leisure interests, which may be relevant to your application.
