Row Of Houses

Communities in Bromsgrove District that have benefited from new housing schemes have another chance to bid for New Homes Bonus grants from Bromsgrove District Council.

Not-for-profit groups and organisations now have another chance to apply for a grant for local projects, out of money that Bromsgrove District Council has allocated out of its portion of the New Homes Bonus.

This second round of funding has been opened after some money was left over from last year’s scheme and the first round of applications this year.

Cllr Geoff Denaro, Leader of Bromsgrove District council, said: “It’s great to see the applications we’ve had so far, and we want more. The funding is there, we’ve made it available, so I’d strongly encourage groups with ideas for their communities to discuss it with their ward councillor and apply.”

£12,324 is outstanding from last year and it can be accessed by any communities that can evidence they have been affected by growth, with a £3,500 limit per application.

£61,469 is outstanding from the first round of bids this year. That money is allocated to specific wards, which are detailed in a Ward Application Summary available on the district council’s website, or on request. For this money, bids of up to £3,500 or larger bids up to £28,000 may be made if the funds are available.

Bids can be made across more than one ward if additional benefit to the community can be evidenced, and bids must have the support of relevant ward councillor(s).

The deadline for Bromsgrove District Council to receive bids is 5pm on October 26.
