Bromsgrove residents can put their best foot forward with a brand-new Walking for Health initiative which has just launched this week in Lickey End.

As well as providing a gentle introduction to exercise, the health walks are designed to give people the confidence to take up other walking opportunities and promote a generally healthier lifestyle.

The sessions will run every Tuesday at 10am at Lickey End Recreation Ground. The sessions are completely FREE and there is no need to book to join in, just turn up. Interested walkers can meet the walk leader, wearing high vis, in the car park just before the session begins.

The walk leader is also a qualified fitness instructor so there will be an opportunity to try out the FREE fitness equipment in the park, with instruction if required.
Run in partnership with Walking for Health and Stamp Out Stigma, Bromsgrove District Council have launched the new outdoor sessions to complement other sessions already taking place across the district.

Physical Activity Development Officer, Hayley Gwilliam, said: “Walking is a great way to boost your health, get out and meet new people and enjoy the benefits of the fresh air – and it’s free!

“It's a great way to escape the demands and constraints of Covid restrictions but in a safe and secure way. Walking is suitable for almost all age groups and fitness levels and participants can take it at a pace that suits them.”
