Garden Waste Service 2020

Our Garden Waste Service is now running to its normal fortnightly schedule, after being temporarily suspended at the start of the Coronavirus lockdown period. We were able to resume the service for existing customers from Tuesday 5 May.

We are aware that some extra waste will have built up over that suspension period. As per our usual practice, we will only be collecting garden waste from the brown bin. This will ensure that the crews can get round to you and all other customers as scheduled.

Any surplus garden waste that you have generated must be stored and then put back into the brown bin ready for the next collection (no bags in the bin please).

Alternatively, you could try home composting.

Collection schedules remain the same as before the service was suspended. You can look up your collection schedule here.

Please ensure you only put the following items in your brown bin to ensure there is no contamination:

  1. Grass cuttings
  2. Branches (up to 10cm diameter)
  3. Clippings and leaves
  4. Weeds, plants and flowers.

We appreciate your understanding and co-operation at this difficult time.

As a Local Authority we collect, hold and process information supplied by you in accordance with the Data Protection Act, to allow us to provide services effectively. You can find out more regarding this and our privacy notice here.
