Who can take away my waste?

For your waste to be removed lawfully, the company you ask to remove it must be a registered waste carrier.  As the person requesting the removal of the waste, you are legally responsible to ensure the company you are using as a waste carriers licence.

Never use unregistered waste carriers because if they take away your waste and then fly tip it, you are legally responsible.

You can check if a waste carrier is registered with the Environment Agency by visiting their website.

Always get a receipt in the form of a proper waste transfer note. This helps prove that that you have carried out your duty of care.
