Residents are being urged to show their support for the people of Ukraine at a public meeting in Bromsgrove's Sanders Park.

Organised by Bromsgrove District Council Chairman Cllr Rod Laight and Baptist Minister Paul Lewis, the event will include a short service, live music and refreshments on sale at the park's café.

Cllr Laight said: "It was clear from the outpouring of heartfelt emotion from our residents that we needed to come together to show our solidarity and support for the plight of the people of the Ukraine.

"I wanted to help organise this event to provide a platform for us to do that and to consider how best we can help and offer support going forward."

The Ukraine Support and Appeal event starts at 1.30pm on Saturday March 19th and everyone is welcome.
