Duty of Care Transfer Note
All producers of commercial waste in the UK must dispose of their waste safely and legally by using an appropriately authorised company as part of environmental good practice laws known as duty of care
If a business produces waste and passes it to someone else they are required by law to complete a waste transfer note for every load of waste that leaves the premises.
A waste transfer note details:
- who produced the waste
- who has the waste been transferred to
Waste transfer notes must be completed annually
Paper or electronic copies need to be kept by both parties for 2 years.
