Crash Pad - St Basils
The Council collects personal information about you in their capacity as Landlord.
The legal basis for this processing is legal obligation, in accordance with the following legislation:
- Housing Act 1996 Part VII as amended by the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
Part VII of the Act concerns the statutory duties that a local authority has to provide interim accommodation if found homeless under priority need.
Medical information is classed as ‘special category’ data, and is processed in accordance with Article 9(2)(h), health & social care purposes; criminal record is also classed as special category data, and is processed in accordance with Article 10, ‘processing of personal data relating to criminal convictions and offences’.
The data collected is:
- Name
- DOB
- National Insurance Number
- Tenancy start date
- Tenancy end date
- Details of housing benefit
- Housing history
Sometimes some of this information is provided by a third party referral, from St Basils and Children’s Services.
Each referral will be shared and considered by a multi-agency panel represented by Redditch Borough Council, Bromsgrove District Council, Bromsgrove District Housing Trust (BDHT) and other agencies. This information will be shared by members of staff in Housing Options, Strategic Housing, the Benefit Department, referring agencies and St. Basil’s, who provide the accommodation on the council’s behalf. Your information is retained for 7 years once payment is made to you, in line with the Limitations Act 1980.
This information will not be shared/sold to any other service/organisation unless we have a duty to do so under law. This data will not be transferred outside of the EEA.
