Christmas has come early for Bromsgrove shoppers and visitors who will benefit from free parking on two weekends during the festive period.

To coincide with Small Business Saturday, visitors to the town on December 4 and 5 will be able to park for free for an unlimited time.

Free parking will also be up for grabs on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 December, in line with BirdBox’s “Welcome Back” Festive Christmas Market which will take place on Friday 17th December, 2PM – 8PM, Saturday 18th December, 12PM – 8PM and Sunday 19th December, 12PM – 5PM.

During this event, BirdBox will be transformed into a Christmas Market with wooden chalets filled with locals, selling handmade crafts (different each day) and local vendors selling street food, steins of beer, mulled wine, and baileys hot chocolate.

Bromsgrove District Council Leader, Karen May, said: “We could have chosen any, random weekends to offer our traditional free parking but felt that these two events were important to bring visitors and life back to our town.

“The district has a great mix of High Street names and independent shops and I hope visitors come from far and wide to support them and give them a boost after a particularly difficult, locked down Christmas last year.

“I can’t wait to see Bromsgrove High Street and BirdBox full of festive cheer and enjoyed by many.”
