The Chairman of Bromsgrove District Council is pleased to announce her first charity event to raise funds for her chosen charity, Age UK Bromsgrove, Redditch, and Wyre Forest.


Cllr Sam Ammar, will be hosting a Charity Golf Tournament and BBQ, dedicated to raising funds for this much-respected charity, which will take place on Friday, 22nd September 2023, at the picturesque Bromsgrove Golf Centre, Bromsgrove, B60 1LD.


The tournament promises a day of camaraderie and sport, bringing together golf enthusiasts and supporters of Age UK alike.

Chairman of Bromsgrove District Council, Cllr Sam Ammar, said: "I am incredibly proud to host the Golf Tournament and BBQ as my first Chairman’s Charity event in support of Age UK. It’s an exciting opportunity and offers a fun day out as well as all proceeds being donated to a charity close to my heart. Age UK play an important role in improving the lives of elderly residents in our community, so book your places at the event and help raise vital funds for a deserving charity."


The event will commence at 12pm with a warm welcome, registration, and refreshments, followed by a 1pm tee-off. Participants are encouraged to submit teams of four, but individual entries will also be accommodated where possible. After a day on the greens, participants and non-golfers alike are invited to attend a special BBQ from 7pm on the restaurant patio.


Tickets cost £47 per person for the whole day, and non-golfers are welcome to attend the evening BBQ at a rate of £20 per person. All proceeds will be generously donated to Age UK.


For more information or to book a place, interested parties should email Sharon Chaplin, PA to the Chairman, no later than 15th August. A booking form, payment details and the necessary references will then be provided.


For added convenience, Bromsgrove Golf Centre will offer 14 buggies available on a first-come, first-served basis. For buggy reservations, participants are advised to contact the Golf Centre reception on 01527 575886.
