ECO Efficiency Boost for Hopwood Community Centre

Hopwood Community Centre has successfully reduced its carbon footprint after the Parish Council were successful in securing funding.

The project to improve the ECO efficiency of the building received £19,150 from the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

Cabinet Member for Economic Development and Regeneration, Cllr. Sue Baxter, said: “Improving the facilities in our communities holds an important role in creating spaces for residents to meet and socialise. We are thankful to the Parish Council who have worked to secure this funding and bring this project to fruition.

“The installation of solar panels will also massively decrease the carbon footprint of the community centre which is always welcomed.”

In recent weeks, the community centre has seen itself re-rooved with PV solar panels installed.
