Levelling Up the Local Cultural Sector

The latest tender opportunity for the ReNEW project is now welcoming submissions from interested parties.

ReNEW are on the look out for someone to deliver the Local Cultural Sector (LCS) Skills Development Programme as part of their wider work within the area.

Part of the ReNEW programme, which is the first major engagement project spearheaded by the Cultural Compact for North East Worcestershire and its partners, this tender represents a major cultural initiative to strengthen creativity, skills, and opportunities across North East Worcestershire.

Funded by Arts Council England and working with local partners, the successful candidate will focus on building skills, capacity, and resilience within the local cultural sector. Likely to consist of delivering training, networking sessions, and undertaking research amongst other things.

The opportunity is open to experienced providers, whether that be an individual, consortium, or organisation.

Cabinet Member for Health and Wellbeing, Leisure and Culture, Cllr. Shirley Webb, said: “This is an exciting opportunity to help us to invest in the people and organisations that make our local cultural sector so vibrant. Through this programme we’re not only supporting skills development, but strengthening the networks, creativity, and collaboration we know already exists locally. This is a fantastic chance for the right people to play a leading role in shaping the exciting future of the sector.”

The project will focus on developing sector skills in areas such as: leadership and governance, communications, event management, sustainability, and fundraising (non-exhaustive list).

The ReNEW project has a strong focus on inclusion, accessibility, collaboration, and creating real-world support for organisations. The successful application will reflect and uphold these beliefs.

We’re inviting ambitious, collaborative partners to step forward and help us co create a skills programme that responds to real needs and creates real impact.”

The deadline for tender submission is 22 June 2026, for work expected to start July 2026 and last until March 2028.
