Sanders Park car park extension opens in time for Half Term
Sanders Park Car Park has now reopened fully, after weeks of improvement works, just in time for the Half Term holidays.
As of the afternoon of Monday 26 October, visitors to Sanders Park can now benefit from improved parking and accessibility as the newly extended car park opens for use.
The improvement project, which began in August, has delivered a significant expansion of parking capacity, including 23 additional standard bays, 3 disabled parking bays and 6 parent and child bays, alongside upgraded footpaths, landscaping, drainage, resurfacing, and accessibility improvements.
Parks Portfolio Holder for Bromsgrove District Council, Cllr Shirley Webb, said: “We’re delighted the work is complete and open in time for half term. The improvements provide more parking, better accessibility, and a better experience for everyone visiting Sanders Park.
“I’d like to thank residents, park users and neighbours for their patience while the works were carried out. The benefits of this investment will be enjoyed for years to come.”
The improvement works have been designed to make it easier for residents and visitors to enjoy one of the district’s most popular parks all year round and will also help support the wide range of community events and activities held at Sanders Park throughout the year.
The project has been carried out on behalf of Bromsgrove District Council by contractor MacDonald Surfacing and forms part of ongoing investment in improving council owned facilities.
