VCS invited to bid for Equality Small Grants pot

Voluntary and community groups in the Bromsgrove District are invited to bid for up to £1,000 of the council’s £10,000 pot of Equality Small Grant funding.

The grants are specifically designed to support smaller voluntary, charitable, or community organisations/groups who can often find it difficult to meet the eligibility criteria of larger grants.

Anyone interested in applying can bid for funding up to £1K, for activities or projects that benefit the community issues and challenge inequality, advanced equality, and/or celebrate diversity.

This is the twelfth year that the Equality Small Grants scheme has opened for applications, successfully supporting small organisations to deliver projects and activities.

This round of funding can be used to support projects and activities scheduled to be delivered in the financial year 2026/27 up until the 31st of March 2027.

The application process opens from 9.00am on Wednesday 1st April 2026, until 12.00pm on Thursday 30th April 2026.

Leader of Bromsgrove District Council, Cllr Karen May, said: “I’m proud that we are able to continue to back the smaller organisations with substantial grants which make such a difference to them.

“The types of projects that these grants are supporting are important to furthering and celebrating equality in the Bromsgrove District. This kind of financial support is key to enabling these groups to grow, which in turn, enhances the district in its entirety.”

This year the way applications are scored has changed slightly, so applicants are advised look over the new criteria to help them to shape their application.

The application form, guidance and contact details are available at Equality Small Grants Scheme 2026 -2027 on our website.
