Sharing Stories Tender Opportunities

The ReNEW programme has two core aims:

  1. To develop creative skills, confidence, and real-world experience for young artists aged 16+, equipping them to shape and enter the creative industries.
  2. To continue to build capacity, collaboration and resilience to serve local communities effectively.

ReNEW comprises two interconnected programme strands:

  • Shaping Futures: training, mentoring and sector development for young people and the local cultural sector.
  • Sharing Stories: three creative projects, co-created with professional artists/arts organisations (digital, visual and performance) and rooted in place, heritage, and identity.

ReNEW aims to develop the creative skills and potential of local young people by providing routes into the creative industries and building ambition, capacity and sustainability within the Local Culture Sector. Co-Created enterprising projects in urban and rural spaces that unite Bromsgrove and Redditch communities through high quality creative activities that enhance pride of place and economic sustainability.

Wagons Roll is one of three Sharing Stories Projects. The Sharing Stories projects will find ways to collaborate and share learning and create a collective impact as part of the ReNEW project as a whole.

Wagons Roll celebrates local people, inspired by the rich heritage, stories, and legacy of the Showmen of Redditch and Bromsgrove, whose vibrant fairground traditions have shaped local culture since the late nineteenth century. This strand of the ReNEW programme will pay tribute to the spirit, artistry, and resilience of the Showman community and celebrate the importance of this legacy through the delivery of immersive, participatory, and mobile outdoor arts experiences, connecting communities across Redditch and Bromsgrove. At its heart, Wagons Roll is about storytelling, place, and participation.

Gateway to Nature is one of three Sharing Stories Projects. The Sharing Stories projects aim to find ways to collaborate and share learning and create a collective impact as part of the ReNEW project as a whole.

This project invites local people to share their stories and experiences of connection with the local environment, enabling the successful Visual Arts Provider/s to support creative activity that will inform the future identity of the National Trust’s proposed ‘8 Hills’ Regional Park.

A breadth of communities and perspectives will be engaged through visual arts activity and co-creation sessions to explore ideas and connections to the landscape and places within the proposed 8 Hills Regional Park geography. Through encounters with nature, they will interpret its beauty and meaning, translating these insights into a common identity and then into design.

NOW ACCEPTING TENDERS

Submission Deadline: 27th March 2026

Awe and Wander is designed to connect local communities with green spaces, focusing on underrepresented neighbourhoods. The project will use digital creativity, storytelling, and  participatory activity to position local people to experience local nature in ways that are accessible, meaningful, and engaging.

The Digital Arts Provider/s will co-create engaging digital content inspired by the University of Derby’s research “Five Pathways to Nature Connectedness” (Contact, Beauty, Meaning, Emotion, and Compassion). These Pathways will act as an inspiration to produce creative digital experiences connecting people with urban green spaces, parks, and the Arrow Valley Park and Lake.

Project Duration: May 2026 - September 2027 with possible extension until March 2031
