Exercise Safely in our Parks and Open Spaces
Walkers are being urged to find new routes closer to home following reports of crowds of people packing into Bromsgrove’s beauty spots.
Officers are aware of large numbers of people using outdoor spaces like Sanders Park and the Lickey and Client Hills, at the same time as they take their exercise.
Now the Council is promoting other walks across the area in a bid to get people to exercise closer to home while exploring the District and staying safe.
Council Leader Karen May said: “Bromsgrove has one of the highest number of Covid cases in the County and we need to pull together and think about our actions if we are going to make a difference.
“I have been quite vocal about this over the last few weeks and while I understand the need to get out and about in the fresh air, there are lots of walking routes and places closer to home, to do so.
“By offering people alternative walks in different areas of Bromsgrove they can choose one closer to home and discover the delightful District on their doorstep.”
Walkers are also urged to get out and about at times which are quieter including earlier and later parts of the day, particularly at weekends.
