Bromsgrove Centres

Welcome to Bromsgrove Centres

Bromsgrove District is home to a collection of character-filled centres each with its own charm, community feel and local identity. Alongside Bromsgrove Town Centre, we support seven outlying centres:

  • Alvechurch
  • Aston Fields
  • Barnt Green
  • Catshill
  • Hagley
  • Rubery
  • Wythall

Across all eight centres, we work closely with businesses, community groups and partners to keep our high streets welcoming, vibrant and full of opportunities. This commitment is set out in the Bromsgrove Centres Strategy 2023–2026.

Our Vision for Bromsgrove Town Centre

To support the future of our main town a new Town Centre Strategic Framework has been created, which sets out a fresh, exciting vision for the heart of Bromsgrove. It was shaped with input from local businesses, community groups and partners, and brings together everything from transport improvements to regeneration, heritage, culture and economic growth.

What the new framework aims to achieve:

  1. A town that’s easier and more enjoyable to move around

Better walking and cycling routes, improved wayfinding and cleaner, greener public spaces.

  1. Better links for visitors and commuters

Including stronger connections to the railway station, Artrix, Avoncroft Museum and surrounding neighbourhoods.

  1. A clean, safe and welcoming environment

More CCTV in the right places, new initiatives to reduce antisocial behaviour, and improved street cleansing.

  1. A great place for businesses to grow

From exploring a Business Improvement District (BID) to business support programmes, pop‑up opportunities and the growing Taste of Bromsgrove brand.

  1. A lively, vibrant town centre full of activity

An exciting year‑round events programme designed to bring people together and boost footfall.

This work will be driven by a new Town Centre Steering Group, bringing partners together to deliver our shared vision.

Events That Bring the Town Alive

Bromsgrove loves a celebration, and our community always rallies behind the fantastic activities that take place across the district. As we head into the year, we’ll be working closely with local groups, businesses and event organisers to support a wide range of external events helping bring ideas to life and making sure our centres stay vibrant and welcoming.

We’ll also be sharing an overview of what’s coming up throughout the year so residents can easily see what’s on and get involved.

Thinking about organising your own event or need some advice?
Our Events Team is here to help. Whether you’re exploring an idea or already planning something exciting, we’re happy to offer guidance and support.

Bromsgrove Markets

Our bustling outdoor market is one of the jewels of the Town Centre. Managed directly by the Council, it continues to grow and attract both new and long‑standing traders.

The market offers:

  • A wide variety of stalls
  • Seasonal and themed markets
  • Food and artisan events
  • Opportunities for start‑ups and small businesses to shine

It’s a place where local shopping meets community spirit and everyone is welcome.
