Bromsgrove Residents are reminded that funding is still available to help them heat their homes after 17 households were helped by a county wide scheme.

Recently, 17 low income households in Bromsgrove with health conditions worsened by the cold benefitted from a similar Worcestershire wide ‘boilers on prescription scheme’* which was promoted at the district council’s Warmer Winter events.

Now that this scheme, which was run by the County Council on behalf of all partners, has finished, residents who might have missed out are being reminded that they can still access funding for energy efficiency improvements via the district council. The Bromsgrove Energy Efficiency Fund provides help with improving heating systems for owner occupiers with a household income less than the Worcestershire average of £37,000.

Eligible applicants for the Bromsgrove Energy Efficiency Fund can access additional funding towards new heating systems, loft and cavity insulation as well as help with boiler repairs and servicing.

Cllr Kit Taylor, whose portfolio covers housing services, said: “If you think you might be eligible to receive help from the Energy Efficiency fund, please get in touch as soon as possible. Being cold can cause so many problems for people, be they financial, mental or physical problems, and this funding is there to help people become more energy efficient, save money and keep warm.”

Contact Bromsgrove District Council’s energy advice partners Act on Energy to find out if you’re eligible on 0800 988 2881.

Alternatively come along to the Keep Warm Save Money event at Bromsgrove Library, Parkside on Wednesday 15th March 9.30am – 1pm.
