It’s party time at Bromsgrove’s Sanders Park which is celebrating 50 years next Sunday!

There’s circus workshops, face painting, music from across the eras, tree carving and classic cars amongst the list of fun things to see and do.

And Bromsgrove District Council has joined forces with the Bromsgrove Society to display memories and photographs of the park, from over the years, which residents have sent in over the last few months.

Bromsgrove Society Chairman Pat Tansell said: “The Bromsgrove society is delighted to be part of the celebration to mark fifty years of Sanders Park.

“The picture display reflects how people have enjoyed and used the Park as well as the legacy of the Sanders family.”

Council parks officers will be on hand to discuss proposals for outdoor fitness equipment being installed in the future and will join their County Council colleagues to talk about plans for new and improved pedestrian and cycle routes through the park.  Visitors can share their views on this as well as finding out more.

Cllr Peter Whittaker whose portfolio covers Leisure, said: “Sanders Park has been a jewel in the crown of this town for 50 years and has played a part in our residents’ lives.

“Whether it is playing on the swings, feeding the ducks, taking a romantic stroll or enjoying a game of footie, it has a place in all our hearts.

“But it’s about looking forward too and there’s lots of plans underway to make sure Sanders Park continues to meet the needs of everyone and will be enjoyed for another 50 years!”

The fun runs from 12 – 4.30pm on Sunday September 16 at Sanders Park.
