Following last weekend’s success the BirdBox is set to fly high again this weekend as the food and drink line-up is announced.

Once again tables and chairs will be put out late on Friday afternoon til 10.30pm and then the same on Saturday.

Visitors to the BirdBox can get drinks from any traders but Bayley’s and The Little Ale House will be open and there will also be from Pizza Heaven and Shimla Peppers, as well as other available traders to enjoy as part of the Council’s commitment to helping independent traders get back to business.

Throughout August the space will be occupied by independent businesses who can pop up there for free or open their doors so people can buy their goods and enjoy them in the outdoors at BirdBox.

Going forward the BirdBox will be used for events, mini-markets, music and pop up restaurants and bars as a programme is being put together but can also be used all year round for people to enjoy their lunch, read a book, or gather with friends.

Bromsgrove District Council’s portfolio-holder for Leisure Cllr Philip Thomas said: “It was great to see such a fantastic turnout last weekend and weather permitting success will follow this weekend.

“This Council wanted to support our traders in the hospitality trade who, because their premises are too small, cannot operate within the current social distance guidance and I urge are residents to support these independents which add to the vibrancy of our town.”

When the extra tables and chairs aren’t out, the space can still be enjoyed.
