A music, food and drink festival is set to kick off a series of events and initiatives which will take place over the next six months across Bromsgrove.

Using cash from the Government’s Welcome Back Fund and under the ‘Your People, Your Places, Your Bromsgrove’ banner the free festival, at BirdBox, will feature a range of local vendors and performers to showcase the talent on the District’s doorstep. These include Ascotts, Bayleys, Betty’s Waffles, No.3a and Pizza Heaven.

It kicks off a series of projects which will run over the next six months as the Council and NWEDR work across the District’s centres to spend the money allocated by the Welcome Back Fund, which, as part of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), is to support the safe return to high streets and help build back better from the pandemic.

Council Leader Karen May said: “Like Councils across the country we have benefited from these funds and it’s important that we invest it to benefit our residents.

“We will be visiting our centres to find out where best to invest the money, whether this be in street furniture, a clean-up project or an event.

“I am delighted that the inaugural event will take place at BirdBox and I hope as many people as possible turn up as we continue to work towards a Better Bromsgrove for everyone.”

The festival starts at 12pm until 6pm on Saturday October 23.
