The bandstand at Sanders Park will be buzzing with music this summer as the annual bandstand events begin again.

The events, at Kidderminster Road, B61 7JP, will start slightly later this year on Sunday 29th May and will then take place every Sunday throughout the summer until 11th September.

Featuring a variety of music from the 40's, 50's and 60's up to today from singers, Silver, Concert, Brass and Jazz Bands, all performances will start at 2.30pm and run until 4.30pm.

The first performance on May 29 will be by Brass Beatz. Following this, there will be a Jubilee Celebration on the High Street on June 5th which will take the place of the bandstand event. Throughout the rest of June there will be music from City of Coventry Brass Band, Stour Concert and Brass and The Last Note.

In July, the bandstand will be bright with the sounds of AD Concert Band, Blackwell Wind Band, Royal Spa Brass, Avonbank Brass Band and Jazz Alchemy.

August will be kicked off by Shipston Town Band before a larger event on 14th featuring Brass Beatz again. This free event will be a green fun day for all the family and will start earlier at 12pm. Brass Beatz will play during the fun day between 2.30 – 4.30pm. The remaining performances in August and September will come from Alcester Victoria Silver Band, singers Charlie Thompson and Stefan Law, Arrow Valley Brass Band and Worcester Concert Brass.

Leisure Portfolio Holder, Cllr Michael Thompson, said: “The bandstand events are always very popular and bring people to Sanders Park every year. There is always a great line-up of bands, and this year is no different, what talent! I’m pleased to see that we’ll have so many performers in the park, especially as this year is also the twentieth anniversary of the bandstand.”

It is free to attend any of the bandstand events and visitors are welcome to bring chairs, picnic blankets and picnics.
