Over 50 people attended the face-to-face events to see the designs, talk to the architects and officers working on the project and to share their views.
 
An online version of the proposal and the feedback form is now available here and will be open for comments until 23.59 on 21st March.
 
Details and images of the proposed designs will be available to view on the web page alongside a link to the consultation survey. A list of FAQs developed from the face-to-face consultations will also be available on this page.
 
Leader of the council, Cllr Karen May, said: “It was fantastic to see and chat to so many people who were interested in the proposals. For those who couldn't make it in person we have launched a new web page with details about the ambitious plans, including FAQs, so you can find out more, and you can also fill in the consultation online.
 
“We had some extremely positive feedback and there were also some very interesting questions raised and I hope the web page goes some way to offer answers to these.”
 
The new FAQs list contains the answers to many of the issues raised, including the filling of empty shops, Artrix, other Levelling Up Fund projects, cinema, housing, and architecture.
 
Councillor May added: “This important development aims to be a catalyst for wider investment in Bromsgrove. Attracting more people to the town centre and high street means increased footfall which will make Bromsgrove Town Centre a more desirable place for private investment, such as filling empty shop units, as well as creating a quality offer for residents and visitors to work, live and spend their free time here.”
 
The plans put forward will deliver a landmark building, providing flexible office space, business start-up and co-working spaces, with restaurants and bars on the ground floor and a proposed Pavilion building for hosting exhibitions, cultural and community events, all surrounded by new public space.
 
The proposed plans will be subject to both Cabinet and Planning approval.
 
Works to regenerate this important town centre site are funded through a £14.5m grant secured by the council* from the Government’s Levelling Up Fund. The grant will also fund the demolition and site clearance work on the Windsor Street site (former Fire Station and Library site) ahead of planned redevelopment by a private residential partner, as well as highway improvements to High Street South.
