Collect Call For Early Bins

Bromsgrove residents are being urged to put their bins out early as crews face a detour along their routes in August.

Because of resurfacing works being carried out at the transfer site in Bromsgrove, where the recycling and garden waste is taken to be collected by Severn Waste on behalf of Worcestershire County Council, alternative facilities in Pershore and Redditch will be used.

This means certain routes will take longer to navigate and will affect the collection of domestic, garden and recycling bins.

Residents are urged to put bins out the night before their usual collection in case the crews are earlier than usual.

And please check if neighbour’s bins have also been emptied before reporting a ‘missed bin’ as crews may also be running later than usual too.

Bromsgrove District Council’s Portfolio-holder for Environmental Services Cllr Peter Whittaker said: “Our crews will be working hard to ensure your bins are empties so please help them by putting them out the night before.

“We apologise for this disruption and thank you for bearing with us.”

The works are set to take place throughout the whole of August. Please check the Council’s website and social media for updates
