Lost loved ones remembered with living memorial

The Chairman of Bromsgrove District Council cordially invites residents to attend a special ceremony in memory of all those who died from Covid-19.

The ceremony will be held at 11.30am on Tuesday 29th November at Sanders Park, where a memorial tree will be planted and a plaque unveiled in remembrance of all those who died from Covid-19, their families, and the incredible work carried out by key workers throughout the pandemic.

Chairman Cllr Rod Laight said: “So many of us were impacted by the pandemic, and I cannot think of a more poignant way for us to pay our respects for those who have passed, or for the efforts of our amazing key workers, than by planting a tree which will become a living memorial and bring new life to our beautiful park. If you are available on Tuesday, please come down to Sanders Park and be part of this special occasion.”

Anyone is welcome to attend the ceremony. Please arrive ten minutes prior to the event and park on the overflow car park. From here council officers will direct attendees to where the tree planting will take place.
