The Basement Project revealed as new civic charity
The Basement Project has been chosen as the civic charity by newly elected Bromsgrove District Council Chairman.
Chairman of Bromsgrove District Council, Cllr Sam Evans, said: “I am delighted to announce my chosen civic charity for the year, The Basement Project!”
“The Basement Project plays a vital role in supporting some of the most vulnerable members of our local community, and I look forward to working closely with them to raise awareness and much-needed funds. I hope residents across the District will join me in supporting this important cause.”
The Basement Project is an independent local charity that helps young people under 25 with any issues or problems they are experiencing. The Basement Project is a safe, secure environment and offers some stability and guidance to young people.
CEO of The Basement Project, Caleb Mallard, said: “We’re incredibly grateful to Councillor Evans for choosing us as their Charity of the Year. This support means so much — not only does it help raise vital funds, but it also shines a light on the challenges young people are facing and the importance of supporting their mental health and wellbeing. We’re looking forward to working together over the coming year to make a real difference in our community.”
The Chairman will help to raise funds for his chosen charity at civic events all across the district this year.
