Zest Chargers Coming to Bromsgrove

Bromsgrove District Council have partnered with Zest to open two new EV charging spaces in car parks across the district.

Located in Aston Fields, the EV chargers are the first to go live as part of a partnership that will see Zest deploy 120 chargers across Bromsgrove and Redditch, making it easier for drivers without chargers to conveniently recharge their vehicles close to home or on the go.

Zest is the UK’s fastest growing investor-operator of public access EV charging infrastructure.

The remaining chargers are expected to be deployed in a range of locations over the summer.

Leader of the Council and Cabinet Member for Strategic Partnerships, Economic Development and Enabling, Cllr Karen May, said: “It is one of our goals to make the town as accessible to as many people as possible, providing an increased number of electric vehicle chargers is part of this. Bromsgrove has so much to offer, being able to charge your car at a reasonable cost is another thing to add to the list. We’re pleased to have partnered with Zest to unlock these facilities for our residents.”

The deployment is part of a £2.1 million investment that will see Zest provide, operate, and maintain the chargers, with no costs for the councils, over the next 15 to 20 years.

CEO at Zest, Robin Heap, said: ““Expanding charging networks ahead of demand is key to accelerating the transition to electric vehicles. Zest is proud to partner with Bromsgrove District Council in its mission to cut carbon emissions across all modes of transport. With over the first Zest charging spaces now in operation, we’re making reliable public EV charging more accessible for the whole community.”
