Stay Safe! Here’s What’s Happening with your Bins

We’re working hard to keep waste collections running during severe weather. Check below for the latest updates and advice.

Adverse Weather Updates – Waste Collections

When severe weather hits, our priority is keeping everyone safe. Conditions like snow, ice, or flooding can make it difficult for our crews to reach certain areas. Here’s what you need to know:

Latest Updates

We’ll keep you informed with updates at 08:00, 10:00, 12:00 and 15:00 right here on this page.

What to Do
  • Please put your bins out, as normal, at your usual collection point by 7am, if safe to do so.
  • If we cannot reach you on your usual collection day, leave your bin out in a safe place - we may carry out collections in a different order based on where we can safely access, and may arrive earlier or later than normal.
  • If we missed your bin collection last week, please put it out again and keep it accessible.
  • We will do our best to catch up on missed collections as soon as conditions allow.
Why We May Not Collect

Our refuse vehicles weigh up to 26 tonnes – much heavier than a delivery van. If a road is judged unsafe, we won’t risk it. This is for the safety of our crews and your community.

Our staff also have to walk a considerable distance each day to support bin collections, which is especially hazardous for our staff when dealing with treacherous conditions.
