Community Gymnastics - book your place

Community Gymnastics is a supportive, friendly environment, and everyone that takes part is required to follow this code of conduct. When you book a place you will be asked to confirm that you have:

  1. Read and understood this code of conduct, and discussed it with your child.
  2. Understood that your service may be withdrawn without refund if the code of conduct is broken.

Code of conduct

For parents, carers & spectators

  1. Follow the new COVID 19 safety guidelines set out by the government and adhere to the new safety measures in place for this activity.
  2. Encourage your child to learn the rules and play within them
  3. Discourage unfair play and arguing with officials
  4. Help your child to recognise good performance, not just results
  5. Never force your child to take part in sport
  6. Set a good example by recognising fair play and applauding the good performance of all
  7. Never punish or belittle a child for losing or making mistakes
  8. Publicly accept officials’ judgements
  9. Support your child’s involvement and help them enjoy their sport
  10. Use appropriate language at all times
  11. Never smoke, consume alcohol or drugs of any kind

For children

I will:

  1. Have fun and encourage other participants in a positive manner
  2. Try hard to keep to the safety measures and encourage others to play safely and responsibly
  3. Do my best to treat everyone with respect and value the help that others give me
  4. Use equipment for the purpose it is intended
  5. Listen carefully to those who coach me and act as directed
  6. Be a good sportsman, act fairly and never deliberately cheat or try to be dishonest
  7. Always thank officials, coaches, and other players after training and matches
  8. Ensure that I wear the proper clothing and take plenty of refreshments
  9. Arrive on time for training or competitions.

I will not:

  1. Bully or laugh at other participants either by myself or as part of a group
  2. Keep quiet about bullying that I see or anything that could make another sports person unhappy
  3. Swear at, argue with or insult the officials, coaches or other participants
  4. Smoke, consume alcohol or drugs of any kind
  5. Disrupt any sessions or activities.

Bullying can be:

  1. Physical: pushing, hitting, kicking, pinching etc.
  2. Verbal: name-calling, spreading rumours, constant teasing and sarcasm
  3. Emotional: tormenting, ridiculing humiliating and ignoring
  4. Racial: taunts, graffiti and gestures
  5. Sexual: unwanted physical contact or abuse
  6. Electronic: unwelcoming text messages, e-mails and blogs.
