Making Theme

Our next theme is making – making being one of our favourite words and things to do. That could mean making a picture, making a place, making a new friend or making a mess! We all make things all the time and, together, we all make Bromsgrove what it is.

First up, we want to draw attention to the wonderful series of videos we've been promoting over the past few months from artist Keith Ashford. Keith is a great maker of images and in these tutorials he shows you how to create your very own crab, space ship and suitcase.

Next, we want to highlight some of the great making resources we've been producing of late – with our sheets showing you how to make your very own moon sand, playdough and flip book.

If you enjoyed Keith videos and film-making is something you're interested in, then we highly recommend checking out the free training on Film-making for Creative Practitioners which our friends at Severn Arts are running in September 2020 – with individual sessions taking place from 10:00-12:00 on Wednesday 9, 16 and 23. For more information and how to book see the link here.

We also recommend exploring the BBC’s great selection of video master classes with ideas of how to Get Creative from some of the art world’s most famous names – including a drawing lesson from world-renowned artist Antony Gormley and exploration of Shakespeare's Sonnets with actor Simon Callow.

Finally, we'd like to conclude by highlighting the great selection of recipes we've received over the last few months from residents – with lots of delicious and healthy things to make, as well as some personal family favourites from Arts Development Officers Huw and Stewart and Programme Support Assistant Amy.
