Community Investment Fund
A new Community Investment Fund (CIF) is available to fund projects across the district to revitalise neighbourhoods, empower local communities and improve residents’ quality of life. The funding must be for the creation of new, or improvements to, existing public buildings or green/blue spaces.
Funding and eligibility
Capital grants are available from £5,000 - £30,000 for projects that deliver neighbourhood improvements to public buildings, green and blue spaces and town and local centre public realm.
Eligible projects are creation of new, or improvements to, existing public buildings for example village halls, community centres, libraries, public toilets, arts, cultural, heritage and sporting facilities.
Green and blue projects include creation of new, or improvements to, existing spaces such as parks, public gardens, playing fields, children’s play areas, woods, cemeteries and allotments.
Public realm improvements including street furniture and way-finding.
Any improvements must be designed to create a better public space and increase usage.
Larger grants may be available up to £200,000 for projects that will have a significant impact such as creating a new facility which allows the delivery of new services in a ward, or projects which have broader geographical reach covering multiple wards.
Revenue grants are available from £2,000 - £10,000 for community events and activities that enhance the vibrancy of the district, increasing footfall in key areas, or deliver community services and activities that benefit local people.
