Strategic Transport Assessment
In 2021/22, Bromsgrove District Council alongside Worcestershire County Council commissioned a Strategic Transport Assessment (STA) by consultants, ITP.
The first stage (Stage 1) of the STA was the development of a Transport Evidence Base (TEB) which brought together all available evidence on existing transport provision and movements within the district, the transport issues, and the infrastructure measures to mitigate the impact.
The next stages of the STA process involved defining assessment criteria or metrics to assess spatial areas with regards to current and future transport connectivity (Stage 2) and applying the assessment criteria to six broad option areas to provide a high-level assessment of transport connectivity (Stage 3a).
The final stage of the STA (Stage 3b) applies the assessment criteria to more detailed option areas ('clusters') to assess the transport implications and possible infrastructure interventions for potential development locations around the district.
