Bromsgrove District Council is inviting residents, businesses, and stakeholders to take part in a series of public consultation events as part of the next phase in shaping the Bromsgrove District Local Plan.

The events come after the plan review progressed through several key stages, including the Issues and Options consultation, evidence gathering, and development of a long-term vision. Now, the Draft Development Strategy stage outlines proposed approaches to housing, employment land, infrastructure, and site selection for the plan. After this, a further consultation stage will come in 2026 and then a public inquiry into the proposals.

All 13 sessions will feature the same content with residents encouraged to attend, speak with planning officers, and share their views.

Cllr Kit Taylor, Portfolio Holder for Planning, said: “These consultation events offer a vital opportunity for the community to help shape the future of the district.

“The next Local Plan will guide development decisions through to 2043 and the Government requires us to plan for a lot more homes. There is of course a vast range of views about how to approach that. A starting point has now been laid out. It’s time to discuss that, and at these events you can get accurate, unbiased information so that you can respond to the issues that are important to you.”

The consultation is running until September 22, with materials available at www.bromsgrove.gov.uk/BromsgrovePlan or Alvechurch, Bromsgrove, Catshill, Hagley, Rubery (when it re-opens after repairs), and Wythall libraries throughout.
