Woodrush Community Hub are delivering a weekly 1 hour sessions on Fridays (1800-1900) at the Astroturf at Woodrush Community Hub, Wythall.
Walking hockey is an accessible form of the sport, designed to help people keep an active lifestyle regardless of age, health, and ability in a fun and relaxed environment.
There is a minimal charge for attending the sessions but please come and meet new friends where no experience is needed and all equipment is provided at the sessions.
For more information contact info@woodrushsportscentre.co.uk or ring 01564 820099.
Woodrush Community Hub were also able to host a Walking Hockey Tournament on Sunday 1st September.
This fun, sociable event had 7 teams take part from 4 different clubs from Wythall, Bromsgrove, Sutton and Wolverhampton.
This tournament allowed the Wythall Walking Hockey teams to connect with other walking hockey groups locally which has now enabled them to strengthen their partnerships and be invited to future matches and tournaments.
With Sports Team Grant Scheme funding Wythall Walking Hockey was formed in early 2024, growing to a regular 15+ players made up of a variety of ages, physical ability and backgrounds. Due to the growth of the club we wanted to host a tournament for other walking hockey groups to take part in and to raise awareness of Woodrush Community Hub as a provision for the local community.
