Bromsgrove District Council has a Local Heritage List Strategy the Strategy can be found here which has recently been updated. Local Heritage Lists identify heritage assets which are valued by local communities and contribute to the character and local distinctiveness of an area.

Assets on Local Heritage Lists can include buildings, structures, landscapes or places associated with significant local, historical events, important people, trades or industries, craftsmen or locally distinctive buildings.

Heritage assets on the Local Heritage List will not have the same protection as those on the statutory list or national list, they will not be ‘listed’ buildings and will therefore not attract the additional consent requirements of statutory listed buildings. District Plan policies, however, support the retention of heritage assets on the Local Heritage List.

CONSULTATION OCTOBER - NOVEMBER 2026

DRAFT LISTS FOR BOURNHEATH PARISH, BROMSGROVE TOWN, CATSHILL AND NORTH MARLBROOK PARISH AND WYTHALL PARISH

We have been working on compiling the list on an area by area basis and have now completed draft lists for Bournheath Parish, Bromsgrove Town, Catshill and North Marlbrook Parish and Wythall Parish

We will be commencing a six week public consultation period with effect from Monday 5^th October 2026 and closing at 5pm on Friday 13^th November 2026.

Consultation events will be held as follows, if you cant get to the closest event to you, officers will be available to discuss all four draft lists at all events.  

Wythall Parish, Thursday 8^th October, 3pm to 7pm

Wythall Village Hall, Alcester Rd, Wythall, Birmingham B47 6JL

Bournheath Parish and Catshill and North Marlbrook Parish, Thursday 22^nd October, 4:30pm to 7:30pm

Catshill Village Hall, Golden Cross Lane, Catshill, Bromsgrove, B61 0JZ

Bromsgrove Town, 3^rd November 3pm to 7pm

The Council House at Parkside, Market Street, Bromsgrove, B61 8DA

We welcome your comments on the information contained in the list entry. Any comments received will be considered against the criteria and if necessary, the entry amended accordingly, which could include removal from the list.

The Bromsgrove Local Heritage List

The Local Heritage Lists for Alvechurch, Beoley, Belbroughton and Fairfield and Dodford with Grafton parishes were formally adopted by Full Council in January 2025. The Lists for each parish can be found below:
