Sanders Park and Town walks

Join us for fun walks around Bromsgrove led by trained volunteers.

We have short and medium walks around the town on Monday morning.

All walks are sociable and welcoming to all, and begin in Sanders Park every week, why not try one soon?

Monday walks around Sanders Park and the town.

We have three walks on a Monday morning, starting from the café kiosk near the car park.  We meet at 9.50am for a 10am start and after the walks we often stay for a sociable coffee.

Monday Short Walk

This leisurely walk takes us around Sanders Park with its stream, lake, open spaces and woodland.  the walk lasts about 30 minutes and is accessible to all on the hard surfaces with no steps.

Monday Leisurely Walk

This walk explores the town, taking time to stop at points of interest.  It covers 2.5 to 3.5 miles and lasts 60-75 minutes. Monday Medium Walk

This walk is a little brisker than the others  Taking different routes each week we explore Bromsgrove in and out of the park.  Taking a different route each week we explore Bromsgrove in and out of the park.  This walk covers about 3 - 3.5miles and lasts 55-60 minutes.

Friday Rural Walk

  • Friday morning walks are longer and go further afield.  We have a programme of walks that take us out of Bromsgrove to the surrounding areas, where we walk on lanes and off-road footpaths.
  • Walks vary between 4 and 7 miles in length, at a fairly leisurely pace of about 2mph.
  • Walks are led by a group of experienced volunteer walk leaders.
  • We meet in the car park extension at Sanders Park at 9.45am for 10am departure.
  • These walks can take us over rough terrain, fields, along canal tow paths and through wooded areas, there will be stiles, streams and hills.
  • Expect hazards like inclines up and down, uneven slippery surfaces, wet mud and tree roots.
  • Also expect spectacular views across Worcestershire!
  • We recommend that you wear stout walking shoes or boots and bring a waterproof coat.
  • Bring a drink and a snack too as we stop for a break halfway.

Car Sharing

  • Friday walks often involve driving out into the countryside.
  • Car sharing is essential as parking my be limited at the start of the walk.
  • Passengers accepting lifts are asked to make a £2.00 contribution.
