Food waste collection service during the 2026/27 Financial Year

We are working towards implementing a food waste collection service during the 2026/27 financial year.

Expected government funding to operate this additional service has not been received as expected, and we are now re-evaluating how to implement this with the funds we have available in order to maintain sustainable services that meet the needs of our residents.

We will provide further updates regarding expected start dates and when households will receive food caddies once arrangements have been confirmed.

In the meantime, we encourage residents to consider how they can avoid generating avoidable food waste, and would encourage you to make use of the “let’s waste less” guidance information and resources available in partnership with Worcestershire County Council, details can be found here
