What information do we collect?

We collect some or all the following information for us to understand the demographics of our customers.

  • Area/ward

Why we collect your data

This survey is an engagement exercise designed to gather views from people who live in Bromsgrove District. The results will support evidence-based decision making, service planning, place shaping activities and future strategy development. The survey will help us better understand residents' views on their local area, council services, community safety, wellbeing, the environment and wider quality of life issues.

Legal basis for processing

Participation in this survey is entirely voluntary. By choosing to complete and submit the survey, you consent to Bromsgrove District Council processing the information you provide for the purposes described in this privacy statement.

Any demographic information requested within the survey is optional and does not need to be completed. Where you choose to provide demographic information, including information relating to age, sex, disability, ethnicity, religion or belief, or sexual orientation, the Council will use this information to monitor equality, diversity and inclusion and to better understand whether different groups experience services, policies or proposals differently.

Where demographic data is provided for equality monitoring purposes, processing is carried out under Article 9(2)(g) UK GDPR and Schedule 1, Part 2, Paragraph 8 of the Data Protection Act 2018 (Equality of Opportunity or Treatment).

How we collect your data

We collect your information through surveys, consultations and other engagement activities conducted by the Council. This will be used to improve services, however as this is an anonymous survey, it will not be linked back to you as an individual.

When we’ll share your data

We will share this data with the Team(s) responsible for delivering the relevant service(s). The survey does not ask for information that directly identifies you, such as your name or contact details. Responses will be analysed anonymously and will not be linked back to identifiable individuals.

How long do we keep your information for?

We will retain the survey responses for 2 years from when the survey closes, unless we have stated it will be earlier.
